EGX’s indices plunge on Sunday

Cairo – Mubasher: The EGX30 main index of the Egyptian Exchange (EGX) edged down 0.87% to close Sunday at 28,042.06 points.

The small- and mid-cap EGX70 EWI also retreated by 0.43% to 6,251.50 points.

Likewise, the EGX100 EWI declined by 0.55% to 9,045.85 points and the Shariah index plummeted by 1.16% to 2,701.99 points.

The turnover amounted to EGP 2.28 billion through the exchange of 591.45 million shares. In addition, the market cap value of EGX exceeded EGP 1.90 trillion at the end of the session.

As for trading on securities, the Egyptian and Arab investors were the net sellers with EGP 7.68 million and EGP 9.48 million, respectively.

On the other hand, the foreign traders were net buyers with EGP 17.16 million.
